Our unique scanning technology is what makes Optimal Chiropractic Centre so different! With our three most important spinal-neural tests: Pulse Wave Profiler, Surface EMG and Thermal Scan we can better understand how stress is impacting your overall health and well-being. So, what does each of the three scans do?
Surface EMG Scan:
This exam evaluates the function of the muscles that support and move your spine. These muscles are controlled by the nerves running with it. This test measures how much energy is needed to maintain your body’s posture and how it is distributed throughout your muscles. However, if too much energy is used when a spine is out of balance, this test score will be lower than normal. Over time, daily stress can continue to overwork theses muscles, which will slowly result in loss of support and mobility, also lowering the score. By measuring muscles activity, your progress can be followed as your spine releases tension and you regain more control.
Thermal Scan:
This scan is used to assess the parts of your nervous system that control the organs, glands, and blood vessels. The autonomic nervous system works alongside the spinal nerves to regulate your immunity while managing your internal organ functions. The Thermal Scan does this by accurately measuring differences in temperature along the spine. Temperature is an accurate indicator as to where stress is building up and how deeply it affects the body’s functions. Each organ system relies on balanced and precise nerve signals to work efficiently. Nerve interference detected by this sensor is important in understanding health and wellness strategies in order to achieve optimum vitality.
Pulse Wave Profiler Scan:
With the use of this scan, Dr. Miskus can determine your overall ability to adapt to the environment. It does this by looking at the timing of your pulse, determining the balance and tension within your nervous system. This exam is also referred to as heart rate variability. Stressful lifestyles involved with poor eating habits, lack of exercise, and anxiety can cause the body to enter the “fight or flight” response. This can lead to exhaustion and a draining of a person’s reserves (energy). A score within the green box on the graph is associated with better adaptability in relation to a healthy lifestyle. Whereas, low heart rate variability is associated with accelerated aging and poor heart health. Regular chiropractic adjustments can help to improve the effects of heart rate variability.
